The owners asked for one room they could share with the weather. We placed it where the rock drops into the sea, lifted it on two steel legs and turned its back to the south-westerly wind. The long window frames the fjord like a painting that is never the same twice.

Inside everything is spruce: walls, ceiling, the bench that runs along the window and becomes a bed. The black cladding outside is charred on site, so it needs no paint for the next forty years.
We wanted to hear the rain without feeling it.
